Hours: 30-40 per week minimum. Exempt Nonexempt
Hours Assigned:Flexible scheduling from 5am to 6pm based on client schedule. Minimum of ½ hour for lunch. Normal work schedule 7:30-5 M-Th, 7:30-Noon Fri
Wages: $18-21 / hour starting
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot problems with air compressors, air dryers, vacuum systems and related equipment.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. General Objectives:
Initial contact with customerInvestigate customer’s needs, plan required repair, service equipment as neededImplement action as required
2. Job functions: • Must be able to come to work promptly and regularly • Must be able to travel within local area and occasional out of town travel • Must be able to take direction and work well with others • Must be able to work under the stress of deadline • Must be able to concentrate and perform thorough work • Must be able to react to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned • Must be able to safely and competently investigate and plan solutions to customers needs • Must have excellent verbal communication with customers, coworkers, and supervisors • Must be able to solve problems • Must have safe work habits • Must be able to coordinate with clients • Must be able to independently respond to assigned customer service calls, diagnose problems and make appropriate repairs • Must be able to comply with all company, OSHA, and customer policies related to safety • Must be able to complete all required paperwork (time sheets, service orders, forms, inventory, expense reports, purchase orders, and equipment related items.) • Must be able to manage vehicle inventory and restock as necessary 3. Professional conduct: Treat all prospects and clients in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner • Treat all fellow employees in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner • Handle all issues related to pricing, sales, service, and invoicing with the utmost of integrity • Resolve all conflicts with openness, honesty, and personal consideration first talking directly to the person involved in a private, non-threatening manner • Maintain a minimal use of personal cell phone and email communication at work 4. Professional development: The employee should take full responsibility for pursuing self-directed personal and professional development opportunities • The employee may be asked to participate in seminars, training, and certification courses. • The employee will work toward an Oregon Class 2 Boiler License, studying for and taking the test.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
• A strong mechanical aptitude • Familiarity with using a PC • Layout of equipment and accessories • Fabrication skillsGeneral knowledge of instrumentation and controls • Use test devices and tools to adjust, calibrate and repair equipment • Ability to follow specific manufacturer’s guidelines for repairs • Provide on-site repair, installation and maintenance of compressed air and vacuum equipment • Ensure that service commitments are met within standard response time • Understand principles of electricity • Read electrical schematic diagrams • Must be able to lift and carry 75 lbs for a minimum of 10 feet • Must be able to lift 100 lbs for 10 seconds • Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions • Must have a valid drivers license and good driving record
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is often performed at customer’s site. Generally, work area is under cover but at times it is outdoors and exposed to the elements. Extreme heat and cold can be expected. Extreme noise and hazards such as high-pressure air, steam boilers, and electrical service equipment are regularly encountered at work sites
